Road trips are rough on a vehicle. By the time you roll in from California, you've got highway grime baked onto the paint, brake dust caked on the wheels, and whatever happened inside - snacks, dust, that gas station stop - settled into every surface. That's exactly what we were dealing with on this Lexus RX 350.
We started outside with a full exterior hand wash to strip off all that travel buildup without scratching the finish. The paint on this RX cleaned up beautifully - the gray metallic has a real depth to it once the road film is off. From there, we moved to the wheels and tires. The spoked alloys got a thorough scrub to pull the brake dust out of every crevice, and the tires were dressed to a clean, even finish.
Inside is where road trips really do their damage. Dust works its way into the dash, the seats pick up grime from hours of use, and the floors take the brunt of it all. We went through the entire interior - wiped down every surface, cleaned the seats, and got the Lexus RX floor mats looking sharp again. The light-colored interior on this one makes the difference really obvious when everything is clean.
What we ended up with is a Lexus that feels like it was just driven off a lot, not off a multi-state highway. That's the whole point of a full detail after a long run - you put in the miles, we take care of everything the road left behind.
