Black paint is unforgiving. Every swirl, dust particle, and water spot shows up like it's under a spotlight. That's exactly why a proper detail on a black vehicle isn't just about looks - it's about protecting an investment that takes more abuse than most people realize.

Here's what we were working with: a Tesla Model Y in gloss black that needed a full once-over. We started with a thorough exterior hand wash to clear off all the surface contamination before anything else touched the paint. No shortcuts, no skipping steps. That foundation matters.

From there, we moved into the full detail - paint decontamination, interior cleaning, and finishing with a wax and polish pass to bring that deep, mirror-like shine back out. On black paint specifically, the wax layer does double duty. It adds that wet-look depth you can see, and it also puts a barrier between the clear coat and everything the road throws at it.

A lot of people think detailing is purely cosmetic. It's not. A well-maintained finish holds up longer against UV exposure, minor abrasions, and general wear. Vehicles that get regular detail work consistently come out ahead when it's time to trade in or sell. That's real, tangible value.

Keeping your vehicle clean and protected doesn't have to be complicated. It just has to be done right.
