Brake dust is one of those things that sneaks up on you. Every time you brake, tiny metallic particles get blasted off the rotors and stick to your wheels. A quick rinse at the car wash might clear off the surface, but it doesn't touch what's packed into the spokes and hiding behind the caps.
That's exactly what we were dealing with here. Heavy buildup coating the face of the wheel, caked into every crevice, with that dull, gunky look that makes even a clean car feel dirty. This is the kind of grime that needs a proper wheel detailing treatment - not a hose-down.
We start by hitting the wheel with a dedicated wheel cleaner that actually breaks down iron deposits and brake dust at the chemical level. You can see the foam doing its job, pulling the contamination out of the tight spots before we ever introduce a brush. From there, we work through every spoke, around the lug nuts, and behind the face where buildup is thickest.
The difference after a thorough wheel and tire detail is noticeable from across a parking lot. Clean, sharp-looking wheels change the whole appearance of a vehicle. It's one of those details that's easy to overlook but hard to miss once it's done right.
We take the same approach on every wheel - no skipping the hard-to-reach areas, no rushing through the process. If the wheel isn't coming out clean all the way around, we're not done yet. That's just how we work.
