Anyone can put shampoo on a carpet. The part that matters is getting it back out — along with the dirt it just loosened and the water it came in with. Skip the extraction and you have a damp carpet with detergent in it, which is exactly how interiors end up smelling worse than when they started.
We agitate shampoo through the pile with a brush, let it work, then run hot water extraction over it until what comes back out is clear. The carpet comes up damp, not wet, and dries in a few hours with the windows cracked.
Same process on cloth seats, with more care around the seams, the airbag tags and anything electric in the base.
